Privacy

The whole policy, in plain words.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account to create, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind, in the app or on this site. The app works completely offline, and nothing about you leaves your phone.

What stays on your phone

What the app keeps, it keeps on your phone: your favourites, your settings, and, if you use the location button, a one-time approximate position so prayer times can be worked out on the device. None of it is sent anywhere, and we could not read it if we wanted to.

The entire network list

With moment awareness on, the shuffle reads the time, the Islamic date, your city's prayer times and the weather. Prayer times are worked out on the phone. The weather check sends only rounded, approximate coordinates to a free weather service with no account attached. When it opens, the app asks this site whether the du'a bank has corrections; nothing is applied unless its signature proves it came from us. When it opens it also asks Expo, the maker of the toolkit the app is built with, whether the app's own code has a small fix waiting; that request carries the phone's platform, the app's version and a random token so the check can be answered, nothing that identifies you. That is the entire list. The moment features can be switched off; the update checks cannot, because a correction to sacred text must reach every phone.
